スミス英会話BBQイベント2009年

You are here: Home / Blog / スミス英会話BBQイベント2009年

AL'S house⑫.JPGOn September 27th we had a very nice BBQ Party attended by 29 students, teachers, family members and friends from Okamoto, Tsukaguchi and Kawanishi Schools.  We enjoyed some great barbecued beef, seafood, drinks and two great cakes and great Hawaiian coffee supplied and served by Derek of the Tsukaguchi School. Watch the Video here.

These events that we host for our students are a great opportunity for them to practice using English for real communication. After all that is the real purpose of language.  Although it seems difficult for them to avoid speaking Japanese with fellow Japanese students, at least we are making an effort to give them the chance to use English with teachers and with other Japanese students who are very good at English and do not mind using English in order to help them to really get the practice which is so very important.  Because without a lot of practice, it is impossible to really reach their goal which should be the master of English in all its forms.

I and the other Smith’s teachers intend to continue to hold such events in an effort to provide our students the opportunity to have fun and also to practice English.  My challenge now is to really get them to speak English more at such events.  After all, that should be their goal and they should seek out as many opportunities to do it.  I cannot give up!  I must rededicate myself to achieving this.

So I hope that more students will join these events and really use this opportunity to practice using English.  Practice makes perfect and we will provide the chances to practice.   It is time to really DIG IN and DO IT!  We are here to help and we will not give up because we enjoy seeing our students make real and meaningful progress.

Enjoy!
