At some point we are all going to have to watch a festival or two and nowhere is it more enjoyable that right here in Kansai! There are so many great outings this year! My wife Yoko and I have been going to every sort of festival big and small for years, but we must say this summer really achieves new records in terms of the numbers of events on display.
It’s a wonderful thing to actually have too much to do, and planning an eventful summer can be tons of fun. With already four festivals under our belt including two school outings we are happy to announce the next one on Friday Aug 9th, known as Uji-Gawa Hanabi Taikai. It’s a must-see and those of you interested students at the Smith’s School in Kotoen スミス英会話 甲東園 should check the message board in the main classroom.
The only realistic way to get there is to arrive by train bound for Kintetsu Uji station. Since there is a bottle neck between there and the main townsite, I recommend arrival at least one hour before the event and plan to leave no less than 15 minutes before the finale. This unfortunately might mean missing the spectacular finale, but you have to trust me on this …… getting out of Uji is not fun on this night so leave early.
Bring lots of cold drinks and leave everything else at home. Go slow and enjoy!
