スミス英会話高円寺 Ohtsu Owner/Teacher Visits Smith’s School of English Koenji

You are here: Home / Blog / スミス英会話高円寺 Ohtsu Owner/Teacher Visits Smith’s School of English Koenji

Smith’s School of English Koenji was proud and privileged to have Edward, from SSE Ohtsu, visit our school in Koenji yesterday – the Marine Day National Holiday.
It was great to come face to face with Edward who is a constant contributor to the Smith’s School of English Soapbox. By the way just like his soapbox articles he is full of energetic conversation and has an abundance of enthusiasm.

We chatted merrily about numerous aspects of the English school business in Japan, including our own schools, and how much we both loved being part of the Smith’s English Conversation School Franchise System. After about an hour we headed to Shinjuku, which boasts the busiest railway station in Japan, for an Italian etc smorgasbord lunch.

It was Edward’s first trip to Tokyo so I took him to Tokyo’s Time Square and its Empire State Building replica. We called into both Tokyu Hands and Kinokuniya Bookshop, and before that we had been to Isetan where I introduced Edward to their expensive fruit collection and whilst there we also visited the jewellery section to view a diamond necklace valued at Y38,750,000. We also popped into the recently opened Marui store opposite Isetan. Note: Isetan currently has a World Watch Fair and one of the watches has an asking price of Y147,000,000.

We met up with Edward’s long time Canadian friend – Kyle, at around 5pm, and they accepted my suggestion to go to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building’s Observation Deck where we had a 300 degree view of the sprawling city of Tokyo. On a cloudless day we would have seen Mt Fuji but it was not to be on this occasion.

I parted company with Edward and Kyle at Shinjuku station where they took the Yamanote line to Shibuya and I went back to Koenji to freshen up for dinner.

Thanks Edward for spending some of your valuable time visiting Smith’s School of English Koenji, where like other SSE schools, we coach communicative confidence in English and assist students with ESL, TOEIC , TOEFL and IELTS.

Here’s a reminder, please don’t forget to access our Free Mini Lessons (スミス英会話無料レッスン) each week, it’s a great way to improve your English and to extend your speaking time during your lesson.

    Ken,

Thanks for having me, your hospitality was second to none. It was great getting to see your school- great set-up and really comfortable. It was great to have you as a local guide around Tokyo. As it was my first time in Tokyo, I was a bit overwhelmed!

Looking forward to having you for coffee at my school in Ohtsu someday,

    Edward

    Thanks again Ken,

I had a great time in Yokohama- it is a beautiful city, full of history and romance. I highly recommend it, especially now with the 150 year anniversary celebration. So many fantastic special events and things to see and do. I’ll put up a post soon.
