On Sunday September 28th, 2008 three Smith’s Schools held a Bowling and Karaoke Party at Rokko Bowl and Cote D’ Azur in Kobe. It was attended by 18 students, teachers, friends and family members.
Students and teachers from three Kansai schools attended. Tsukaguchi, Fuse and Okamoto schools were represented. Starting with bowling the group played two games and the winner was given a prize. The Karaoke party started immediately after the bowling and again the group voted to give one of the participants a prize. It was an easy vote since one of the students simply blew everyone away with her dynamic wide-ranging voice. Mai can really belt out a tune and can sing both the male and female parts in a duet. Wow!
Again, this kind of fun event is just an example of how much more fun it can be to belong to a Smith’s School and study English with teachers who really care about their students’ progress. We try to give our students many opportunities to use English outside the classroom. At the same time, we teacher-owners also have a lot of fun.

Al,
Many thanks for organizing this event!
It was a lot of fun as these multi-school events always are!
I especially enjoy watching students greeting students from other schools with an “ohisashiburi”!
In his posting here Al has decided to be modest and so there is no mention of his very admirable performance on the lanes yesterday so I will go ahead and say it.
Congratulations on the seven strikes in your second game!
We were all impressed to witness your skills!
Thanks again and I’m looking forward to our next gathering.

Thank you very much to both you and one of your students for organizing this event. It was fun! Holding events together is great and I am looking forward to holding more events with your school in the future. Oh and I have to agree with Alex on your bowling skills! Well done!
Cheers.
