On Sunday July 27, 2008 we had our Smith’s School of English Barbeque Event at Tsurumi Ryokuchi Park in Osaka.
The park staff there is wonderful in arranging everything and making sure you are at your table on time and out of there when your time is up!
They really have a nice setup for having barbeques there!

We had a great time with…5 schools participating!
I think the temperature was about 35 or 36 degrees Celsius!
I’m sure many of us got a nice(r) sun tan that day!
I want to say a big “Thank you!” to all of the students and teachers who made the effort to join us for this event!
Judging from the emails I have received from my students who participated, it seems everyone had a nice time!
Good food, good laughs and some fun English games made for a very enjoyable afternoon together!
I especially enjoyed seeing a couple of my students recognizing students from other schools that they had met at a previous event and greeting them as old friends!

I and my fellow Smith’s School of English franchisees are already exchanging ideas via email about what event to do next.
Perhaps in the fall when the weather will be a little cooler and we can enjoy the beautiful Japanese maple trees in the autumn colors…

That was a really great day. All my students had a fun time, we enjoyed the set-up and meeting lots of different people from all over the country and the world. The ARK people were really nice too!

The event was indeed a lot of fun despite the scorching temps that day!
Thank you for coming all the way out to Osaka for this event and a special thanks to your students who have faithfully attended our events despite the distance out here from Ohtsu in Shiga.
