There are a lot of online lessons out there but nothing can beat the direct assistance that a teacher can provide in the classroom. Smith’s School of English is now offering online lessons to our students each week that reinforce the lessons in the classroom.
Last night I was very pleased that one of my younger students had gone to the site to check out the lesson on Saturday night and had prepared an example to share with the class. As soon as she sat down she told me that she had checked the lesson and she told me and the other student her sentence using the important phrase from the online lesson. I was very happy to see her enthusiasm. After that I had the other student also create an example using the sentence form that was included in the weekly lesson. This was very beneficial.
Smith’s is also gradually implementing more online lessons to help our students practice and reinforce the lessons taught in the classroom. The combination of in-class instruction and online practice is a great way to speed up the progress of language acquisition and increase students’ confidence.
Take a look at another kind of lesson recently added. Online Lesson: Phrases 001-005. Online Lesson: Phrases 006-010. This one allows the student to practice using the phrases from the phrase lessons taught at Smith’s. Of course, this lesson must be taught in the classroom also to make sure that the student is correctly understanding the meaning, pronouncing the words correctly and placing emphasis on the correct words and syllables. But practicing this kind of lesson online can really help accelerate the learning progress for most students.

So stay tuned for more online lessons but be sure to attend your lessons and make sure that your teacher gives you the best instruction on the correct usage of the phrases and routines. It feels so good to achieve something doesn’t it? It is what makes life exciting and worth living!
