with the X-Mas break rapidly approaching things get hectic…as I teach kids that means some fun and games. Each year I try out one or two new games that I haven’t done before as well as use some tried-and-true ones. That way I can build up my list of games that kids enjoy and at the same time make sure the kids go home with a smile on their face. While parties might seem easier than regular lessons it is in fact quite the opposite, the pressure is higher as the kids expect something special and it means more planning and prep work for me. Still, it’s all worth it. While my adult students might not get a party-like atmosphere like the kids they each get a small treat from me to thank them for studying hard and doing their homework each and every week.
Next week we at Smith’s will get a well-deserved break but I intend to use that time to go over my students’ progress this past year and think about what an exciting 2008 we’ll all have.
Merry X-Mas all…
