A lot of you here in Kansai have gone to see Luminarie in Kobe this year. The general feeling has been just a wee bit less Christmas-like than in previous years, and so the display in Kobe has been welcome.
Another wonderful monument of the holiday spirit has been on display at JR Osaka Station City. For most of this year, the crowds at the all-new and super-awesome Grand Front Osaka have been daunting, but it has mostly now settled into a comfortable normal that makes hanging out in Umeda very nice these days. Christmas is alive and well at Station City with this lovely light show that rivals Luminarie without the crowds, and this one also has the advantage of being essentially indoors so you can hang out and soak it all in at your leisure.
A third must would have been Hana-Tohro at Kyoto Arashiyama but unfortunately my wife and I were just a little too busy to make it out this year. Too bad because both Hana-Tohro and Luminarie end today, December 16th. Why would that be I wonder ……….
Oh well, it’ll just have to wait until next year! Until then, you still have a few more days to enjoy this!
