The July 2009 edition of “Kia Ora from New Zealand“, which is my student’s blog in Japanese, is now up!
In this latest article she gives us an update on her daughter’s progress studying English at an English school associated with the New Zealand Institute of Science and Technology.
Her daughter also celebrated her 19th birthday recently!
Last month mother and daughter also spent about a week in Sydney where… she had to attend a training program in order to obtain an additional certification and the accuracy of her test results amazed the instructors! Congratulations!
In addition to work, they also had a chance to enjoy Sydney as tourists. In her own words, they became big fans of Syndey and would now like to live there.
On the way back from Sydney to Auckland they had an emergency at the airport involving her daughter and her reentry into New Zealand. It was a moment of panic as her daughter did not have all the required documents to re-enter the country. She describes how the ordeal went and how they were able to clear this hurdle and go back home. Quite interesting, and I think in this situation the same immigration rules apply in regards to many countries.
She was very thankful for the kind assistance they were given at the airport.
These are just some of the topics which she has highlighted in this edition.
As always, comments and questions are always welcome.
This is another fun and informative article in the series “Kia Ora from New Zealand” guaranteed to start some interesting discussions in the classroom.
