2008 has arrived and while I spent most of my holidays up in Niigata where time seems to stand still. It was amazing how much time I had to do things compared to Osaka where it’s always go go go. Don’t get me wrong, I love big cities and have spent most of my life in them but up there my wife and I enjoyed just relaxing and preparing ourselves for another year. I spent quite a lot of time reading, it’s my new thing. However I read things to help me grow as a person and businessman not just pure enjoyment but actual eduction. I have discovered some new teaching techniques and planned out various things for the year that will benefit my students. I have a good feeling about this year and know that there are big changes coming. The industry as a whole took a blow last year but the one thing I’ve learnt is that the Japanese people have an amazing ability to forget about the past and move forward. It’s truly one of the things I admire about them the most.
I’m armed and ready for another exciting year teaching at my own classroom with a system that works for both the students and the teachers.
See you all soon.
