Last Saturday night, one of our students came to her lesson looking totally exhausted. She was shivering from the cold, and had a couple of very heavy bags she needed to bring home. Her husband, who usually picks her up after her lessons, was out of town. She doesn’t drive, so she was going to take the train, then a bus, then walk about 10 or 15 minutes to her house. She wasn’t looking forward to it, especially as it had just started to rain quite heavily.
As her lesson was the last one of the day, Mike offered to drive her home, even though our vehicle is a 20 minute walk from the school. She waited at the school with me, and we chatted while waiting for Mike to come back with the car. Then we all piled in and we drove her to her house. She was so relieved not to have had to make that journey alone in the rain! We are always happy to help whenever we can.
