Summers Here!!

You are here: Home / Blog / Summers Here!!

I believe the last couple of days have confirmed the arrival of Summer. WOW! It got hot yesterday. Thank god for the new air conditioning units we had installed in the classrooms recently. However, unlike the scorching midday  heat, it is really quite pleasant in the mornings down at the station. We currently have have 2 “Super Flyer Guys” helping us out at Sakai Higashi. I like having these guys down there with me as it is much easier to keep a smile on my face when I have someone to chat with. I think that creating some noise and laughter whilst handing out flyers is as good as the information on the flyer itself. Im sure when people see our Smith t-shirts, hear us laughing and speaking English they are thinking “who could be so happy at this hour of the morning?!?” Of course, I’m happiest when I see the results from the early mornings in the form of 6 trial lessons in as many weeks.

Another great form of visual advertising is running into current students on their way to work and having a quick chat. I am always aware of the side glances (and sometimes stares) I receive when chatting to students. So, I want to thank all of my students who see me in the mornings and take the time to stop and say hi! Thank you for helping me build Sakai Higashi into a bigger and better school.

Hi Tim, Great to see you here on the SoapBox and nice to read how well you guys are doing with the flyers. The air conditioners are really a good investment.

    Tim-

I also love my Air Con. It’s great to see that you are creating so much positive energy early in the morning at the station. I have had similar mornings handing out flyers and it feels good making people smile at this time of day.

Congratulations on such great results! I look forward to hearing more about your school, and picking up a thing or two from you and your experiences.

    Tim,
Glad to see you`ve posted something about how doing flyers in the morning can be enjoyable and I agree with you 100% on the benefit of having a partner out there with you.
Running into students on a regular basis while doing flyers in the morning is always a lot fun and it demonstrates your dedication to your school.
Nice posting; I`m looking forward to hearing more about the growing school down in Sakai Higashi.

    Tim,

Welcome aboard! I enjoyed your post and it reminded me of the many times I also run into my students in the morning while flyering. They always stop to talk for a few minutes and that does get a lot of attention. So keep it up and ask them to check the soapbox and the Smith’s main site and your own subpage often to see what is new. The more interest we can get, the better we all become. Right on!

    Hi Tim!

It’s great to have you here on the Soapbox with us. It would be great to see you here every week!

Yes, it is hot. It’s a good thing that we don’t have to wear a suit and tie, eh?

Well done on the trial lessons! Keep going!

    Cheers.
