There are many great things about owning a Smiths English school franchise but right up there has to be the relationship you develop with your students. In the three years I’ve been a franchise owner many of my best friends started out as students. Last month for example, I went to watch a student sing in her choir, another student invited my family to do fireworks, I made pottery with another student and I’ve been to the pub a couple of times with my 9pm class (after the lesson) and the list continues but for the sake of brevity I’ll stop there. The small scale nature of the school allows you to really get to know the people you are teaching and this has to be the biggest perk of the job for me.
