Just got home from a student’s place. She and her husband invited my husband and I to join their family at their home for an Okonomiyaki party tonight. She was our first student and is still studying with us, as is her son, who we have had the priveledge to watch grow into a wonderful, polite, confident young man.
Her husband is an art teacher, and he was given an Okonomiyaki (Japanese dinner-pancake) set for six people by the parents of one of his students. She invited us to their home immediately upon arriving tonight for her lesson, and how could we resist?! Good conversation with fantastic people, not to mention great home-cooked food and of course a little sake! What a pleasant dinner! We had fun using many of the one-points we have studied over the years, and some of the expressions we practiced tonight in our lesson.
So glad to have had the chance to do this! Can’t imagine a more pleasant way to earn a living!
Have a great weekend, everyone!
Deana
