new students

You are here: Home / Blog / new students

Each year I say goodbye to some students but welcome others. In January alone I met 7 new people, some were walk-ins while others actually booked a trial lesson. When new students step inside the classroom for the first time many of them are surprised at the casual atmosphere of the room as well as teachers not being dressed in a suit. The Smith teachers are always professional and courteous and armed with a wealth of materials to assist a student’s progress. Students taking man-to-man classes have the added benefit of the teacher catering the class to the specific needs of that particular student. Even group classes are limited to 3 students allowing everyone to contribute and not get lost in a group. It’s great to be a part of a school where the students’ needs come first. I’m proud to be a member of Smith’s and have a great feeling about 2009.

Adrian

    Adrian,

The entire Smith’s system was certainly working hard and working together this January. Reports from all over are great. Flyers are going out all over Japan, the website is powering up, interest in Smith’s is growing. The staff at head office are doing a great job turning phone calls into trials, and teachers are [obviously] doing fantastic trials. So many new faces, smiling and eager.

I haven’t actually got 7 new students just yet, but a few have signed up and I’ll wait to see about the others. I have faith.

    Great work Adrian,

I know with your hard work and dedication to help your students reach their maximum potential, and great teaching materials, your students are lucky. It looks like the street level sign is working too as can be seen by the walk-ins you had. I had 3 trials and gained 3 students in January and one was a walk in student too. So I too think that 2009 will be a great year for Smith’s School of English. TEAM: together everyone achieves more. The Smith’s team is working like a well oiled machine and it is great to be a member of such a dedicated group. The students are also part of the team as they are kind enough to accept us to teach them and give us the opportunity to hone our skills. As a result, I have no doubt that they are gaining great skill and confidence to use English. Let’s take it to the next level!

Couldn’t agree with you more, Al. Students make up a big part of the team. Basically we are there to support their needs and to fill in the blanks. We play an important role but it is thanks to the hard work and dedication of all our students that we all move forward. I am honored to be a part of their lives.

To combine the comments above: the entire Smith’s system is running like a well oiled machine. All the parts are working together and the result is that everything is going well. Student are joining thanks to teachers flyering, staff selling, management managing and the system being well maintained. Students are improving thanks to teachers teaching, staff booking lessons, a great curriculum and of course students themselves being eager and dedicated to their studies.

Wow. Isn’t 7 a lucky number as well? Nice work ALL.
