Back in 2002 one of my students told me about her dream to publish her own book and then submit it to the local library to share with the generations to come. The key was that she wanted to write it in Japanese and English. Since that time she has written one essay a week for me to correct and 6 years later her dream has become a reality. 6 years of hard work and dedication have paid off. It was a joy to help her accomplish her dream and I look forward to helping her write her 2nd book. If any of you are interested in her book click “The Greatest Gift” or go to www.amazon.co.jp and do a search for it. It does come with a CD that was produced to help people with their listening skills. There are many really interesting essays contained within it so if you feel like reading a book and getting a small glimpse into Japanese life over the past 60 years or so you might want to give this a try.
