Yesterday, Tuesday, I also did not think I had a very good day. It was the first day of my English school being open (hooray!), but… no fanfare, and no students. Every time a fax came through I looked up hoping it was news of a trial student. Well, that didn’t happen. But I did get e-mail and even snail mail from several friends here in Kofu, in other parts of Japan, and from the US wishing me well and reminding me of why I took this road. Their timing was perfect.
And then, like Jim, the 7:00 alarm rang. This morning the air is cool, people smiled, I handed out flyers and greeted the day. Now I’m back home drinking my coffee and enjoying a leisurely morning with no hurry to get anywhere, no demands from a boss or timeclock to punch. Students will come, I’m fully confident of it. Ah yes, I can do this.
