With the X-Mas season upon us, and many of us gearing up for the holidays, I am reminded about what X-Mas means to me. My parents often told me as a child that X-Mas was a time to give thanks for what we have and that it was a time of joy and happiness. I think that pretty much nails it. At the closing of every year it’s nice to take stock of our lives and to think about what lies ahead. This year brought some ups and downs but I choose to focus on the positives. I opened a 2nd classroom in March and then in May was blessed with a bouncing baby boy. I have had the chance to work with some wonderful people (Sharan, Akio, Jerry and Rylee) whom I deeply appreciate. My wife is as lovely as ever and our relationship has continued to get stronger each passing year. I devoted time to improving myself through reading and tried to share that knowledge with my students who work so very hard for me. I have seen my students’ ability grow and improve each week. Yes, it has been a good year.
I am very excited about the future despite everything we read in the newspaper or listen to on the radio and know that each day brings us untold mysteries to solve and opportunities. In 2009 I look forward to sharing my experiences with everyone here.
Merry X-Mas and a Happy New Year to everyone.
Thanks Adrian. Have a great 2009!
