Students always ask me what’s the best way to learn English…
and I always give them the same answer – study.
However in this day and age with new technology appearing daily we have some amazing tools at our disposal to master English – youtube / dvds / google (just to name a few).
With DVDs students are able to practice not only listening skills
but also increase their reading speed (by turning on the English subtitles). It’s one of the reasons I encourage students to borrow any one of the DVDs out of my collection. Youtube allows us to view videos that people put up from all over the world and some very useful tips related to English study can be found here not to mention some great little comedy clips. And finally the single most powerful search engine ever – google. With it at our fingertips we can literally find information on any topic in seconds. While nothing will ever replace hard work it’s nice to know that we have options available that can make our task easier.
