One of our students came to her weekend lesson as usual the other day. She was in great spirits as always, in spite of the rain. I had not taught her for some time, so it was nice to have a chance to catch up with her. I usually teach her son at that hour (and my wife teaches her) but her son wasn’t able to attend his lesson that week. This student has been at our school since the first week it opened, and her son joined a year or so later. Both of them have improved incredibly since studying with us! I was happy to tell her that, and also to tell her I had noticed a big change in her son’s communication confidence in the last month or so. I mentioned that he has started to pro-actively engage me in conversation (in English, of course!) and that he is very comfortable and eager to speak and ask questions. She said that he looks forward to his lessons every week and that his father now thinks that he should also start studying English with us to keep up with his son! I know they always go home and teach the father this week’s One-Point English. The whole family is really enjoying the rewards of learning another language and communicating in a new way. We’ll be waiting for him!
