It’s been commented that working in the franchise schools is a whole other world to head office in Kyobashi. After having a worked a number of different schools, I’d say that this is generally true. A one class school obviously has a different atmosphere to a 5 class school, due to the sheer number of people in the building. Depending on the area and the time of day, the student profiles are different, too.
I’ve been filling in some shifts at Takarazuka recently, and coming back to Kyobashi tonight I feel some of these differences directly contrasted. Most of the students in Takarazuka are fixed, so that on any given week you have a pretty good idea who comes on which day and at what time, whereas the schedule at Kyobashi is a surprise each day.
The pace in head office is always quite fast, with students arriving in the lounge, and various people greeting them and fixing drinks, whether they will be teaching them in a minute or not. On the whole, the pace at franchise schools is a lot slower and familiar, as each student drops right into the lesson.
