At Smith’s Tsukaguchi School, I recently received a fax from head office, written by Mark Smith himself. On the fax Mark wrote:
“Dear Derek,
We were having a look through trial lesson results and came across some interesting numbers.
8 trial inquiries
8 phone calls converted to trials
6 of 7 trial lessons converted to students, 1 trial lesson set for the future.
These are your June stats so far Derek. These numbers are fantastic. The synergy between the staff, the system, and your hard work are evidenced in these numbers. Congratulations on a job very well done.”
I was very happy about two things. One was the stats, and the other was the fact that head office noticed the results and praised me.
1. HOW I DID IT.
a) Trial lesson inquiries came from both flyers handed out at train stations near my school weekly and the web site for my school http://www.smithweb.co.jp/school/tsukaguchi.shtml provided by head office. I am excited to see that more and more inquiries are coming from the web site! Thank you head office!
b) I used the Smith’s curriculum at the trial lessons as head office trained me to. https://www.sse-franchise.com/franchise_products/curriculum.shtml
c) I taught my trial lessons themselves the way head office had trained to plus added in my own positive energy. Being cheerful and smiling are really important, not only while giving trial lessons, but anytime I’m coaching communicative confidence to my students at my school.
2. HOW IT FELT. Absolutely great!!
3. HOW THE STUDENTS FELT. They joined, so they must have enjoyed the trial lessons and thought that Smith’s would meet their needs.
4. HOW I WORK WITH STAFF. Head office and I work as a team. They do ALL my scheduling for lessons as they receive all scheduling calls from my existing students. ALL my inquiries, whether they came from flyers handed out or the Smith’s web site, or most recently word of mouth are directed to Smith’s head office where they may be converted into trial lessons. Then I give the trial lessons and head office speaks to the students in Japanese both before and after the trial lessons via telephone. It’s works extremely well and I am very happy to have their support! So far this month, 8 out of 8 inquiries to head office were converted into trial lessons with me. Great job head office! Thank you so much!
5. HOW IT FEELS LOOKING BACK AT SUCH SUCCESSFUL RESULTS. Absolutely great!! The synergy between my work, the staff and the system is amazing. It really is working well. I am proud to be a Smith’s Coach of Communicative Confidence!
