Last night, I met one of my students in front of the station. He has been going to company introduction meetings and interviews all week and he stopped to tell me about his experience. As we were standing there, a young woman who was obviously a new company employee passed by and as often can be the case seemed to ignore me when I offered her a Smith’s Flyer. However, in this case, she was and old friend of my student from junior high school days. He called to her as she passed and we shared a nice short conversation in which she explained that she had recently started working for a paint company and she introduced herself. My student said that this was the first time they had met since they graduated from junior high; so, it had been about 5 years. They bid me goodbye and walked off together engaged in conversation. That really felt good.
