Japan has some great little shops seemingly everywhere called HYAKKIN (100 Yen) shops. You can find some amazing things there and it is even more amazing how cheap they are.
A few weeks ago I found a very nice bag at a HYAKKIN near my home. It is a simple and lightweight blue bag with a zipper closure. It seems to be a lightweight canvas-like material but is coated on the inside so as to be water-proof. For several weeks I have been carrying a lot of stuff in this simple bag and it has really paid for itself.
I can easily put all the things you see in the picture in this bag and can even carry it under my arm with the handle looped up over my shoulder. I can put my notebook in its protective sleeve, my iPhone battery backup charging pack with cables, my sunglasses in their protective case, my passport and bank passbooks in another protective case, a sturdy folding umbrella, my Pocket WiFi unit with its AC Adapter, my PC’s AC adapter some pens and other things. Even with all those things, there is still room to stop to buy a T-shirt or Polo shirt that will fit perfectly into the handy little bag. It is quite amazing and all for the cost of just $0.80. How can you beat that?
