Hey everyone! As some of you probably know, my wife and I are major summer festival revelers and with July upon us now it is time to take a look at what our options are in the Kansai area for this year.
English conversation students at the Smith’s School of English in Kotoen スミス英会話 甲東園 are interested in going out more this summer. This is not only because I never stop talking about it and getting people all excited about visiting their own country, but because Kotoen and Nigawa are particularly well-positioned to get out and see a lot of festivals.
But almost any place in Kansai is a good place to start from, especially if you have a car. Those of you out in Kyoto, Nara and Shiga also have many wonderful options.
FIREWORKS – Confirmed for this summer are Ashiya, Takarazuka, Otsu, Kameoka, Uji, Kobe Minato, PL, Yodogawa, Itami, Inagawa
SUMMER FESTIVAL WITH FIREWORKS – Maizuru, Tsuruga, Ayabe, Sasayama, Fukuchiyama, Tenjin-Matsuri
NARA TOKAE – Always deserves an honorable mention, as GION MATSURI and DAIMONJI festivals in Kyoto.
Not sure this year are Mineyama, Nantan and Nagahama.
Dates TBA in the next post so stay tuned! ALSO, SINCE IT’S JULY 1ST, HAPPY BIRTHDAY CANADA!
